Christoph Stephenson-Moe has discerned a call to medical school, so he will begin transitioning out of his current role as Youth Minister at the end of the month. His last Sunday as Youth Minister, however, is scheduled for 27 September, because he will be working alongside our new Youth Minister to ensure a seamless transition for our youth and families.
It has been a great privilege to work with and witness Christoph’s leadership with our youth, and I look forward to witnessing how God will use him in the healing arts. He has a tremendous future, and he has the healer’s heart necessary to be an effective and dedicated medical professional. We are proud of you, Christoph!
I am also pleased to introduce our new Youth Minister, Jackie Overton, and her family. Jackie began discerning a transition in ministry after a successful, decade-long ministry at St. Mark’s in Venice. Interestingly, she has collaborated with Christoph and Fr. Chris on various youth initiatives around the diocese over the years, and they both give their enthusiastic “stamp of approval.” When I met Jackie, I was instantly convinced that she is a strategic planner who will continue to build-up youth ministry at Redeemer. Youth ministry (even in a pandemic!) will go from strength to strength under her leadership. Jackie is married to Brian, who is a deputy in the Manatee County Sheriff’s Department, and they have three wonderful children, Benjamin (six), Logan (four), and Eden (two).
