Lorraine Murphy

Receptionist

Receptionist Lorraine Murphy accepted a shoulder tap to join the Redeemer Choir as one of the soprano section leaders/soloists in 2014. She joined the church in 2015 and has since served in various volunteer ministries. In 2016, she was married to Lee Holden by Father Charleston Wilson.

‌Lorraine holds degrees from Goshen College, Indiana, (BA, Education) and Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania (MEd). She is a former missionary teacher to Nigeria with Mennonite Central Committee, a frequent principal on the opera stage, and a soloist on international choral tours. Lorraine also is a vocal coach and teaches piano.

She enjoys eating SubZERO ice cream from the business owned by daughter Jill Sheeler Shenk, son-in-law Doug, and son Todd Sheeler. Lorraine has five grandchildren, and her newest heartthrob is her toddler great-grandson Koda. Her motto is: “Always carry a song in your pocket. You never know when you will have the golden opportunity to sing it and change a person’s spirits.”
