Jacki Boedecker

Director of Children’s Christian Formation

Jacki Boedecker grew up in Sarasota and at Redeemer. She is a graduate of the University of Florida and worked in marketing/public relations for many years following graduation. She spent high school and college summers working as a counselor at Camp Wingmann, the Episcopal Diocesan camp and conference center in the then-Diocese of South Florida. Jacki has led Children’s Christian Formation at Redeemer for 39 years, serving under four rectors. A long-time Sunday School teacher, she established Redeemer’s Christian Formation Team, Vacation Bible School, Children’s Chapel, LOGOS, the Friday Morning Youth Bible Studies, and a multitude of other programs, ministries, and outreach for children, youth, and families, which she continues to lead. Jacki has chaperoned youth mission trips, served on the Vestry, and been a member of the Finance Committee, Mission & Outreach Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and Day 4 Hope Committee. She served as Senior Warden, was the parish Communications Director for seven years, and currently is part of the Women of Redeemer leadership team.

A leader in the wider Episcopal Church, Jacki has served on the Diocesan level and has been a contributing editor for The Anglican Digest. A member of the Province IV Christian Formation Council, she chaired the national Christian Formation Conference at Kanuga, where she has also served as Planning Team Chair. Her formation curricula have been used around the globe, and she continues to consult with parishes throughout the country.

Jacki and her husband, Jud, were married at Redeemer. They are blessed with three grown daughters, three sons-in-law, and five grandchildren.
