For the safety of the families we serve, as well as our volunteers, Day 4 Hope, which takes place at Redeemer on 18 July, will look a little different this year.
But the bottom line remains: Redeemer is committed to helping at-risk children prepare for the start of a new school year:
How will families be served: Families will remain in their cars as they travel around Redeemer’s front parking lot loop on Gulfstream Ave, and all supplies will be placed in cars by our volunteers as they slowly drive from station to station.
What will be distributed: Families will receive the necessities (food, school supplies, gift cards, personal care bags, and a meal to go). Some personal services, offered in prior years (medical, dental, vision, hair and photo) will not be a part of Day 4 Hope this year, due to safety issues.
What volunteer positions need to be filled: Thanks be to God, all volunteer positions are now filled!
Can I help before Day 4 Hope begins: Through prayer. You can become a prayer partner for a child whom we will serve on 18 July. Simply commit to pray for him or her every day. To become a Day 4 Hope Prayer Partner, link here.
Melissa and Jason Kubisiak have taken on the herculean task of completely restructuring Day 4 Hope this year, due to COVID19. The parish and our community are forever grateful!
