Calling all Redeemer Sunday School students in grades K-12! Your art could appear on Redeemer’s 2021 Christmas card! If we choose your artwork, everyone in the parish will see it and enjoy it.
Get out your craft supplies and create a picture of something you love about Redeemer during Advent or Christmas as we mark the birth of Jesus. Maybe you’d like to draw the poinsettias decorating the church or the Christmas tree in the courtyard. Maybe you want to paint the candles in the stained-glass windows that are decorated with Christmas tree boughs. Or maybe you’d like to use a pencil to illustrate the crèche at the front of the church. It’s up to you!
You can use watercolor, colored pencil, crayons, paint, paper cut into shapes, pens, or pencils to create your artwork.
Here are the rules:
·Artwork size must be no smaller than 5 inches x 7 inches or it can be larger, if you keep the same ratio (such as 10 inches x 14 inches)
·Orient artwork horizontally or vertically as long as you use the ratio above
·One entry per child or youth
·Artwork must be original and created solely for this contest
·Please do not use any lettering on the artwork
·Do not put your name on the front or back of your submission
·Submit your artwork to your Sunday School teacher
Deadline: Sunday, October 24, 2021
Once your Sunday School teacher receives your entry, he or she will write (in pencil) your grade and a number on the back of your entry. They will keep a list of all entries and the corresponding number of that submission. This will help ensure the judging process is blind.
So get out your craft supplies, listen to some Christmas carols, and let the creativity begin! We can’t wait to see what you create!
